Over the past few weeks, Able and I have been on a mission; a mission of self-help. We both picked up various self-help must-reads, the most epic being the classic manifesto of borderline personality disorder
I Hate You, Don't Leave Me. You see, your dear bloggers happened to have been the victims of borderline lovers, a fate I would not wish on my worst nemesis (for reals). The borderline person is vengeful, full of rage, self-destructive, needy on the level of a newborn, and wonderfully manipulative. They also love you so much they would die for you one minute, and hate you so much they want
you dead the next. The point is that this disorder and recovery from being close to someone who suffers from it have been at the forefront of our thinking here for a while, and has probably colored a good number of posts over the past few months. So now that I've sufficiently over-shared, let's get to the entertaining part: I've compiled a list of some songs that I love that were obviously written about one of these nutbags. Enjoy:

Borderline personality is as much a fabrication of the pharmaceutical industry as it is an actual disorder diagsosed with an increasing frequency due to 1) the continued inbreeding of white Europeans and the 2)socialization of females within that population to have low self esteem and be improperly equipped to regulate the biologically variant moods of which they are expected to feel at a greater rate and intensity than their heterogametic counterparts.
I think it's also basically PTSD if you accept that the T part is completely subjective to the individual.
Also the name itself "borderline" is confusing, non-scientific, and stigmatizes those affected and this is all probably on purpose and you can blame the matriarchy.
Anyway, I haven't read the book but I can only assume it's total garbage. Good playlist though, I would put "cruel to be kind" on as well.
PATRIARCHY. BLAME THE PATRIARCHY. Excuse me I made a typo because I was thinking about, um, mother's day.
Susannah Kaysen would be so proud of us...
Who was judging you? You are taking a comment about a self help book, a genre which you know full well is garbage personally? That's silly ish, G. Nobodys judging you guys here.
Also, this post reads very tongue in cheek. For all I know, she was talking about Rocky.
and for whatever reason my phone had me logged in as Lizz on that last one.
yes, in general self-help books are garbage but i have to say that when this book listed 8 criteria for a disorder and this person fits all of them, it's something to think about. it's important to note also that i don't think either of us read the "self-help" part because it's useless, just the definitions of the disorder and several case studies.
also it's always prudent to take a look at the pharmaceutical industries where mental illness is concerned, but as this disorder basically cannot be medicated and hardly even treated with psychotherapy i'm not sure if that's what's happening.
there is a pinch of victorian hysteria to the definition, but only slightly. I agree with the PTSD thing, as trauma is usually involved. It would be interesting to see if this is where the difference lies between the long term effects of severe childhood trauma vs. adult trauma.
hug it out, bitches.
all hugged. sorry guys--i was in crisis ayer.
